We're using mashines in Nevada that print out a paper trail for you to review before you hit the "I'm done, that's what I want" button. We don't get to keep a copy, but at least there's a printout you can verify before you vote.
That said, I tend to trust the machine more than the people, because people can 'lose' ballots or throw them away, etc etc etc. . .
