...are looking up. Current plan is getting either a 2-Bedroom Apartment, or possibly a 3-Bedroom Townhouse in combination with Omega Wolf and Chaos Kitty, possibly with Cameo Nox Phyre joining us w/ space for her SO when he's not on deployment. (Yay, military furs!)

I'll have about $600/month after taxes roughly from my Metro job, w/ $400/month in car expenses roughly per month w/ payments/insurance/gas. So $200/month towards rent from Metro (my stable base job) then whatever hours/work I get from Guardsmark. Calling them today to find out what they can schedule me for, even if the pay rate sucks as long as I can scrounge the hours. I hope to get 32 hours/week from GM for now, to keep my insurance through them, and even at worst that'd give me about $700/month after taxes from them across 4 days of work. That will go almost entirely towards savings, $100 towards rent so I'll need a few hours a month from GM regardless of if they can give me a full schedule.

More realistically, I'll be without health insurance for the moment again, and work 4-5 days a week with about $200-$300 going into savings each month, with extra time popping up randomly from each of my jobs until I can wiggle Metro to full-time or find a better job than either of the above. Need to start brushing up on Red Hat so I can possibly apply to Cerner, though those hours would be hell. =-.-=

The thing about Cerner, is they expect you to have no life outside their company. If they hire you on for 40 hours a week, they'll expect 60.

Yeah... which is why I'm hesitant.

I'm actually realizing... wow, I may make ends meet easilly on just 3 days of work a week, and I'm sorely tempted to do that oddly. =O.o=

Because there's nothing I despise more than a job that says it's XYZ hours, but wants some huge amount more than that in reality. I refuse to do that, and have walked out on one job offer because it was salaried and specifically said they could call me back even from a scheduled vacation with 24 hours notice.

Just do your homework on the Cerner. There may be positions that don't require that sort of dedication, however, that has been what was expected of various positions in the past. :-/

Heya, thought I'd let you know that your journal coding doesn't work so well on my work machine. All comment text disappears when the scrollbar comes within an inch of the end of the page. o.O;;

It's IE 6.0 on Windows XP (don't look at me, I didn't install it).

Yeah...

...I still haven't worked much on IE6 testing, between IE7 being free even for pirates now, and LJ's current refusal to add the IE7.js file to their pages to IE6 will act relatively sanely. =-.-=

I'll look into it though, and see if I can get it to act better later this week. Sorry! =^.^=
