Hmm as for the problem, that is odd :( I'm afraid I can't be much help, you've tried about everything there is there. Hmm I know you are going to have me fro this :P but in my own personal experience, the Mac is about a million times better for any kind of Video/Audio editing, period. I've used them for that before and I've had very few problems :) Unfortunately you would have to replace the entire computer then with something that may be a bit alien to you (though from here it looks as if you already have!). Of course the new unix based OS is damn sweet, I should know, I'm running it her on my 4 year old Beige right now. I got a Raedon PCI in that, nice card :)
