They're from a company called Saddleback Leather. So think horse-tack/BDSM quality materials, used entirely just to make storage devices. They're overengineered like I like my cars. =^.^=
I have the 16" 'briefcase' along with the 'flat' satchel that really does just link right onto the side of the main bag. Well... either end. There's more D-rings on this than I can actually use at the moment, but I'll find a use for them and in the meantime they just get tucked out of the way. :-)
