That's [livejournal.com profile] pistolpup in the husky with the straw hat, he's who I got Lumi from. Me and the white fox (Cizkaro, need to tag all his images still) only had a point-and-shoot with us and our handler/photographer was too friggin' timid with the damn camera so we didn't get that many photos. (2 hours... he barely used 150MB of an 8GB card and the batteries are over 90% still... *cries*) But anyways, this was me:

It always makes me squeamish to see furries in fur suits around children, the sub-culture is so heavily sexualized that it gets ingrained fursuit = furrysex.

That said, these are neat pictures and the kids look like they're having fun.

And this, right here, is one of the very reasons I'm working so hard to organize outings like this; meeting with companies and property-owners, discussing limitations and plans at length with their security personnel, even meeting with the surrounding companies ahead of time.

To break this recent over-sexualization that's been cropping up, with the simple expedient of actions speaking louder than words, but well-chosen words obviously helping. Enough of us suiters get known in the area as being harmless and self-policing and well-behaved, and that reputation will stick hopefully.

That, and it's one of the best ways I know of to stick by my adopted state's motto: Show Me.

There's an easy solution for the timid photographer problem... Let me be in suit next time! Haha. Seriously, though, my attitude is changing. At the beginning of the day I was trying to keep you guys out of trouble, but by the end, all of my directions as a handler were to guide you toward interesting photo opportunities.

And really, there are only so many interesting pictures of "Wolfwings walking down the sidewalk" you can get, and all of the really good poses passed by fast enough that by the time I raised the camera and got the shot off, it was too late. >.< I guess I need more practice. And a camera with a smaller delay.
