I just did.

Am thinking it was a bad idea to ever get a character on HLM. Am thinking it was a worse idea to ever meet half the folks on there, as I have a magical ability to piss them off, and the group that's usually on there and that has their own self-formed 'club' has a magical ability to piss me off in return. To the point of someone telling me to 'shut up' instead of simply ignoring me, even when the MUCK itself has tools to let them ignore me quite readilly built right in.

I'll see how I feel over the next two days, but I get the feeling I am going to be leaving there, at this point.

You, too, have the ability to ignore them in return. You can take responsibility for your own online experience there... and if a room gets too drama-heavy, you can retreat to somewhere else, and talk on dotcom.

Sometimes it's hard to take on a position that might upset others, or make them dislike you. It's not fun for you, and thus you know it can't be fun for others. But sometimes it's better just to be up-front and tell them you're just not interested.

I gaze at your icon there, and it makes me smile a little, because I know that you want to be a good listener, a good friend, well-liked and so forth, thus your icon-of-cuteness reflects all that. But, you also have to take care of yourself, and keep yourself out of positions that you know will upset you, as much as you may want to be the 'good-guy' and the good listener.
