May. 2nd, 2002 09:38 amYa' know what? I've realized something...
ConFurence is dead.
Not in the usual 'the con sucked' way either. The Con, what ghostly little there was of it, was actually quite good.
In the 'Mark and Rodney's ConFurence is dead' way though, it's a corpse, rotted away to bones at this point. This year was a prime example. There just wasn't enough furs, it was a complete counterpoint to something like Further Confusion.
Perhaps it will rebuild to something else, but I'm just worried about it becoming a LosCon clone, one centered around furs.

But yeah, CF12 was good, CF13... was too sparse to be overcome with decent quality. If you saw/heard about CFX, the one in the hotel the size of all of freakin' disneyland... this felt like that con, but we were in a hotel similair to Further Confusion size... but you could walk for 5-10 minutes without running into anyone.
Heck... when I said I'd managed to find 7 parties one night, and heard of two more at the 'gripe session' they were amazed there were enough people to HAVE 9 parties. :-) The folks running the con being amazed 9 parties could physically form... says something about things, does it not? :-)
