...better get your PS1/PS2 and assorted games while you still can.

Yes, unless Sony is successful in their appeal, they just got handed a massive 'take all your stuff and go home' note. As in, theoretically it could end up requiring them to issue a complete recall of all PS1's and PS2's in the United States.

Because a company patented computer controlled vibration for crisakes.

Hey, if it were my patent, I'd just settle for having Sony pay royalties, much less paperwork for everyone that way.

How on earth they could enough people hand in their gaming systems? Or enough to eliminate the 'competition'? I'm not arguing, just baffled at the possible scenario.

(I'll be in the cold, hard ground before I hand in my copy of ICO. *grumble*)

Yup, some guy just patented the airsoft minigun.... Even though Tokyo Mauri made it first and sold it here years ago. Now they can't sell it in the US anymore.

Don't give a flying fuck who got hit by it...

...but I'm even-handed at least. I bitch about patents, period, regardless of who's abusing them.

There's no 'karma' when a bad patent is involved. This just proves, yet again, how badly broken our patent system is. At this point there are patents for computer-controlled toasters for crisakes.
