Spent the last day at [livejournal.com profile] ironbadger's house, was too tired from sparring and working on his back to drive home, took a nap and ended up playing numerous hours of Front Mission 4 level-grinding because I didn't know it was okay to wander upstairs and wake him up when I finally did wake up, and he didn't wake up on his own until around 16:00 since we were up until at least 05:00 to begin with.

Note to self... spar more often. Hasn't felt that good to get some physical exercise in... gods, it seems like years at this point. Sign me up for the padded blades, and let's go clobber each other for a'while until we're sore and exhausted. =^.^=

Anyways... shower, then hitting the road again to mad-rush up to pick up the Porsche 944, then head from there straight to work tonight.

Oh, yeah...

...did I forget to mention that on my LJ before? =^.^=

The insurance money from the Eclipse got turned into a black 1986 Porsche 944.

Admitedly, it probably has approximately $1000 worth of restoration work to be put into it (a good chunk of that to replace the cracked windshield, drop $200 off if I just grab a compatable windshield and don't get another of the same year with the radio antenea built into the glass) for mostly minor things like replacing the shift boot, pulling out and re-assembling all the interior trim pieces in the right order to make them all layer nicely, and cleaning all the switches on the dashboard so none of them stick. The only other 'outstanding' problem besides the cracked windshield (two-layer glass, outer layer only damage) is that the HVAC controls are 'stuck' internally somewhere thinking the temperature slider is always set to full-hot.

But, it's purchased from my mechanic, who freshly rebuild the entire powertrain (engine and tranny) and has given it a 12000-mile/12-month warrenty on the entire powertrain. And considering it only cost $2800 to start with, I'm quite happy with it. =^.^=

And somewhat akwardly... a freshly-restored stock-but-problems-fixed yellow Bricklin was being 'idled in' to test the tuning in its engine as a last step before leaving the neighboring shop to go up for sale. =-.-=

Unfortunately, paying for the Porsche means I don't have the cash to have been able to swing getting the Bricklin. But, maybe it'll be around in 6 months. As you know, DMC's and SV-1's are the two cars I'd dream about owning one day, though the SV-1 has a minor bias as much because it confuses people when they come up close and realize it's not a DMC as anything else. =^.^=

I almost bought a 911 myself, instead of the DMC. Unforunately, we stopped to get some advice from someone who knew about what we should be looking for in Porsches, and ended up being an hour late and someone got there before us with 12, new $100 bills. Alas.

Oof...

Well, this looking pretty much nothing like any 'standard' Porsche, it shares a lot more detailing and style with, for example, a Toyota Supra. Including the engine being in the front and pop-up headlights. =^.^=
