I look at it this way, if their claim (that the thrust is proportional to the effeciency of the resonation chamber) then it's pretty likely they'll be able to build a version of the thruster that'd have a lot better thrust/weight ratio, and that's not even going into using much better materials instead of simple flat copper like they have in that prototype. And even if they only turn out to be useful in space, imagine a satellite that's reliant on how long it's solar panels last, not on how much fuel it can store on-board? As evidenced by the Mars Rovers, if you don't have a finite fuel source you can last a LOT longer.
