GWB doens't like you? You lose your property.

Specifically, the property of anyone undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people and the best part; There need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made is the punchline. Why? Due to the ability to transfer funds or other assets instantaneously is claimed.

And yes, the bold-font sections are cut-and-pasted, with enough surround material I believe they can be considered approximately in context. The entire thing is short, but good grief. =O.o= As Slashdot puts it, and I concur, this appears to basically undo the 5th Amendment by Presidential decree.

And this surprises anyone HOW?

I mean, for pete sakes, the man can already arrest anyone at will and toss them out of the country, no questions asked. Taking away property seems a unneccesary step, outside of saving money on throwing people out of the country. Instead, let's let them starve INSIDE the country instead.

The real question is does he have the gut to use this against political canidates who of course are undermining efforts if elected by bringing the troops home. Of course... pretty much, it will be a yes... but you know for once, I'd like to see a moment of hesitation from that office.

Don't be quite so alarmed. This is standard counter-terrorist financial seizure legislation.

And all of that legislation have been very alarming indeed. From the Patriot Act, TIPS, Homeland Security and now this.
