Been doing s'more research. Found out one interesting thing at least: If you can connect to the point where it asks you what server to join, but then hangs and says 'Cannot connect to DBServer' then your firewall is only allowing TCP traffic, but blocking UDP traffic.

Random thought, since I believe I recall you got that far before. Still rooting around to find a UDP method.

Interesting... unfortunately, CoH uses 101 different UDP ports, so I don't know what's up with that. But yes, that's exactly the error I get when I try normal connections.

*bounces* Thank you for your rootings. :)

...and found out PuTTY doesn't support tunneling UDP over TCP so I'm researching alternative software solutions. Might have to resort to (in effect) PPPoE to a remove server, AKA poor-man's VPN. =^.^=

So I could get the server list, but when I tried to actually join a server... bam, DBServer error.

Oh, BTW!

Slight correction... it looks like OpenVPN will work, no need to putz with PPPoE at least. I'll know for sure in an hour or so. =^.^=
