I waited all winter to get these on, the weather has finally been nice so I made an appointment. And today, yes, on April 1st, I got my gryphons on my car finally. =^.^=

I ended up going with a 'bronze' sort of vinyl, that was a dead-on match for the metallic flake look, and same 'value' as my car's paintjob. As a result, in shadows or at night unless the light hits it, the gryphons mostly fade away, but in sunlight or similair the gryphons 'pop' out quite nicely, very easy to see the details when you look for them but unobtrusive. =^.^=

And [livejournal.com profile] lizkay? To quote the vinyl guys when they loaded the image-file: Wow!

Pictures or it didn't happen:

Yeah, it turned out awesome!

And they did have to go rummage around for the one 'new' computer with CS3 on it to open the file, but it opened perfectly, typed in a measurement off a tape-measure, verified they had enough vinyl, good to go. Came back 5 hours later, got handed my keys back, drove to work. =^.^=

And yeah, we spent a good 20 minutes looking at various bits of vinyl up against the car, finally the owner of the shop walked back over with a dusty roll, and was like, "We've had this for ages... but I think it might work for what you're trying to do." And this was the result.

I promised I'd come back by the shop so they could take a photo since their camera was off-site today so they couldn't take a photo before I left. *chuckles*
