Further Confusion...
...was interesting.
I ended up on staff, specifically Staff Feed staff, yet I spent over 70 percent of my time in the stage area or quietly wandering the con, so I ended up actually serving the triple roles of gopher wrangler whenever anyone needed gophers, The Guy With Every Staffs Phone Number, and lugging water and sandwiches by the crate to the A/V Tech crew occasionally to make sure they ate and drank enough.
All in all... a decent, if odd con. Definate high points (spending time with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mira_fastfire, and paying back a 2-year-old, $200 debt that the other person had forgotten I owed them) and definate low points (figuring out my mom's got depression when she ended up in tears at the con on more than one occasion) but overall something I'm glad I went to.
I'm going to volunteer for internal logistics staff next year, since I seem to play The Guy With XYZ Info pretty well, and am decent at getting amounts of just about anything from point A to point B intact and quickly.
My biggest problem is an absolute inability to stand, sit, or lay still unless I'm dead asleep, resulting in my quiet wandering around any given con space until I bump into or spot something I can help with or otherwise work on somehow. Curiously, I've developed a knack for walking into a place right when something goes wrong so I can help out quite often.
