The joys of fever. In this case, a fever of 104.3 by the time I made it to the hospital around midnight.

I'm feeling MUCH better now though. They pumped about 2l of fluids into me, and doped me up on tylenol. =^.^=

Probably had "The Warm Death", the flu that's going around up here as well (friend at school gave it its name). I had it in November... Luckily, my highest was 103.5... Was enough to scare my mom though, lol.

Hope you feel better.

Feeling MUCH better now, actually. =^.^=

And if your temperature was being taken by those under-the-tounge thermometers... I found out there's a reason hospitals use the in-the-ear ones. Under the tounge turns out to usually be about a full degree cooler than your actual temperature. I know I measured 103.2 when I went in, but it was 104.3 when they zapped my ear. =^.^=

An appropriate name for this years variant though, I agree. *snugs* Thanks for the well-wishes.

The other alternative was a full-body ice-water bath and a shopping trip to get a gallon of gatorade for me to guzzle, stomach complaints or no stomach complaints. =^.^=

Previously, I would have just 'toughed it out' but I wanted to make sure, so I played it safe for you, hon. *nuzzles*

yeowch, I think the highest a human can take is like 105, too close for comfort!

I didnt know that one COULD get doped on tylenol :P

Actually I've had noticably higher before.

When I was younger, I've hit 107, and the 106's repeatedly.

And when you have a fever that high, and are so dehydrated from sweating in your sleep for the last 6 hours until you woke up and called a house-mate on their cell phone with your own because it's the only thing you could physically lift at the time... and suddenly feel like stretching, bouncing a little, are clear-headed, and don't feel like your eyeballs are boiling out of their sockets...

Yeah, I'd call that happily doped up, comparing it to my previous times on morphine when I broke my arm, and similair narcotics I've been prescribed over the years. =^.^=

Sounds like the same thing [livejournal.com profile] nolly has had for the past two days. I've been bringing her ice water every few hours, and occasional snacks, and the rest of the time she's been sound asleep, or occasionally propping herself up a little to read for a few minutes. Poor kid.

Unfortunately, I think it's my turn to come down with it next, and I don't have the option of staying in bed until I feel better. Bah.

Glad you're recovering, though. Yay Tylenol!

That about sums it up, yeah.

I think letting my body slow-roast like that though kicked the virus in the shins something fierce though. I've always been one to tough things out as long as I could, and let the fever get as high as I felt comfortable. This time, unlike all the others, I didn't stay hydrated enough though, so I get a trip to the ER. =^.^=

All I know is that the virus seems to be on a sharply-noticable retreat now, so I'm feeling vastly more perky. :-)

erfles.

But this has definately proven to me just how badly I need to get a constantly-paying job, so I can actually earn some proper cash.

Which means, after I'm feeling well, likely just after New Years, I'm going to go tromping to all the local internet-cafe's and such, see if any of them are hiring.

Amusingly, I have a curious advantage. I'm a HUGE fan of several Korean computer games, and this is the Korean part of town, in fact most of the stores as you saw I think have signs in Korean, not English. Apparently that's been a bonus to other folks I know that have gone job-hunting. *crosses fingers*
