Couldn't afford to replace the Catalytic Converter. Needed $130 cash to do so.

What's the vehicle worth under the kelly blue book? Can it be sold, so you can get something that will pass?

It's not worth that much from KBB.

If I did the repairs needed to bring it up to full KBB spec, I'd break even.

As it is now, I wouldn't recoup the initial investment in the car if I sold it.

And yes, by 'break even' that includes the cost of bringing it up to KBB spec for Good or Excellent condition.
