Car's fixed.

Replaced all the ignition wires.

Distributor cap will be in at AutoZone on Monday.
The Rotor I have sitting in the box in my car.

So in a matter of hours, I'll pick that up, hook the two together, and replace the last part that might have been failing. Then comes the joys of re-timing the engine, which will be quite simple since I'm not giving a rats ass about emissions, so I can just tune it to run as smoothly and quietly as feasable, my personal preference. =^.^=

What was the deal with the folks who fixed the CV Boot? Did they cause the trouble and did they resolve the problems to your satisfaction?

They explained the problem...

...and didn't charge me a dime for doing so. And considering how cheap it was to fix, and it was on my list of things to replace in two weeks, and I was heading to AutoZone already to replace a burnt-out headlight, I just shambled the car to AutoZone, bought the wires ($15! Not $80 like they were going to charge... yeesh), and installed it myself.

So, they didn't 'solve' the problem to my satisfaction, but they facilitated my repairing the problem myself.

I guess the question would be: Will you go back to them again in the future?

Then that really answers your level of satisfaction with their work.

What kind of car do you have? ;) sounds like an old car ;)

Let me guess ...
mmm ... toyota ... 89 ... Corola ... (i'm ridiculous) :P

*laughs* Not quite, but close in it's own way. :-)

My mom's car is an 88 Toyota Corolla hatchback.

My car in question is a (very beat-up at the moment but well-running) 1985 Honda Civic, also a hatchback. My family has a penchant for hatchbacks and station wagons. =^.^=

Though when I'm done with the Civic, it's not going to look much like one anymore, but that's a story I've been cataloging in my LJ entries if you look back through them. :-)
