Well... at a bit of prodding that I don't think [livejournal.com profile] smashwolf will quite understand how he did... I've gotten every last trace of Microsoft OFF my machine, only CD-R's in case I need the files, and Slackware 8.0 running smoothly on the same machine.

And ya' know what? I take back ever nice thing I ever said about Windows XP. I thought it was stable. It wasn't. THIS is stable. The sheer fact I could get a BSOD on XP without working too hard should have been a clue, I was just fooling myself.

Still... pardon me while I revel in the unaddulterated speed! *bouncy*

MicroSoft software is like a virus. You just -think- you got rid of it. It's just waiting to get you, my little pretty!

XP vs. Unix

... for stability, Unix wins, no contest. However, XP is a huge improvement to previous incations of that virus released by Microshaft. Personally, I haven't crashed it once yet, but I've only had it for about a month. XP is stable if compared to Win95 & 98. Working as video game tech support I've come to love XP's compatability modes. As always, if you are doing lots of video gaming, Winblows still holds the main market. If you -must- use a M$ product, I would recommend XP. If you don't need those fuckers, get Unix, a real OS.

hi there.
