Microsoft, as always, has been among the very best at marketing and corporate propaganda, which now means everyone uses their stuff, but they've NEVER had the best software.

Ubuntu and I are fast becoming friends, so I think I'll just stick with my XP installs as long as possible and then only move to Vista when there are 'other' games that will require it. And if they do ultimately cave and concede DX10 to XP, that day probably will never come.
