Just got the letter saying I no longer have any health coverage, one of the last vestigle reasons I cared about having the job I did, one of the last 'good things' we had... now we don't even have health coverage, at all. None, zero, not reduced, CANCELLED out from under us with no warning given, barely a month between being told the company no longer payed back for CoPayed medical expenses to finding out, no... we no longer have ANY coverage at all...
Grr... I'm pissed. Seriously pissed. And one of the last things that made this job good, having health coverage... just got blown away. I'm not effectively on my own... I almost wish I really was on my own now. =-.-=

Date: 2003-06-15 04:47 pm (UTC)Sounds to me like the company didn't pay in time last month and a full 2 weeks into the next billing cycle they retroactively pulled the plug on previous coverage.
In other words, it sounds like the company I work for is in serious financial flame-out, so unfortunately I'm hedging my bets and checking on my alternatives... This may mean I'll be closer to

Date: 2003-06-15 05:37 pm (UTC)Basically, I think they're cancelling it due to lack of payment, either that or the company cancelled the health coverage entirely, which still cuts one of my last few tethers of loyalty. The remaining ones are those I live with, since several of them work for the same company as well. But currently, a better tenant for the room I'm currently renting is available, so I have little to worry about from that front as well. The tether isn't cut, but it's not binding me down with a reason to squirm currently... I have more freedom of movement than I've had in a couple years actually.

Date: 2003-06-16 01:13 am (UTC)Though currently I'm actually giving the company a bit of a last chance, since I have the funds to wait one last month before having to bail. Mama-wuff's taking care of planning the bail-out if it comes to that, but we figured out to give it July as a last month to check before I vanish up to the realm of the dial-up modems, solar-powered laptops, and LOTS of time to learn to play guitar and build stuff. =^.^=
