And just as a last note... currently, aside from various cellphones, and PDAs (many of which are ALSO cellphones these days) the only handheld gaming option is the GBA. It's it for 'commercial' games, though PalmOS (especially devices that support PalmOS 5.x) has a very healthy following of shareware/freeware games being developed for it.

GBA is mostly just a portable SNES/NES with updated and simplified (from the programmers perspective) graphics hardware, and is having most of the successful titles for those platforms ported to it.
